Family festival 2018: Into the Trees, full of crafts and activities for young and old.

If you’re looking for a family festival in 2018, Into The Trees is back in Sussex this September 14-16th. And better yet, you can win a family day ticket here – enter below!

Into the Trees family festival 2018 comes from the organisers of award winning Elderflower Fields. Like its big sister, Into the Trees is held in Pippingford Park, surrounded by stunning ancient Sussex woodland.

This is a unique festival unlike most; it’s all about spending time in nature with your family, exploring, playing and learning among ancient trees and foliage. Where Elderflower Fields has music and activities, Into The Trees gives you tree climbing, screen printing, archery, storytelling, kayaking, mountain boarding, lantern making, a mud kitchen, foraging, and so much more!

Having visited the festival last year, I urge you to take part in building your own wooden playground with Woodland Tribe, try out screen printing flags with Imagine Make Play and listen to enchanting mythical stories from around the world, told by Andreas Kornevall.

As Richard Louv writes, “time spent in nature is the most cost-effective and powerful way to counteract the sort of burnout and sort of depression that we feel when we sit in front of a computer all day”. The benefits of nature and “forest bathing” are well documented. I thought last year’s Into the Trees was a perfect way for the whole family to relax and enjoy the benefits of nature together.

This year, this intimate festival has expanded to a full weekend, Friday afternoon to Sunday. You can choose to buy day tickets or full weekend, with the option to camp or glamp.

Information on activities and tickets can be found on Into the Trees website.

Hubby and I both work so having time with our 3 children when we get it is special and we try to make the most of every minute!

Because quite simply – it’s quality family time. Kids never really remember sitting watching movies, or being online – they remember adventures in the park or camping trips etc. (Done the instagram entry – natalielara1989)

Absolutely agree! When we ask what our kids remember from time together last summer, their most memorable and special thing was climbing the snow capped Norwegian mountain last August. And this year, they’ll remember sleeping in hammock tents deep in the forest, overlooking a lake. Not watching the iPad whilst we packed for the trip!Congratulations Natalie, you’re the competition winner – you’re going to Into the Trees in September!
